Following is a brief description of the Engineered Custom Golf Fitting and Building Process.

Fitting (This same tedious process is used for both woods and irons)
  1. Length Is Determined Dynamically - not measuring the wrist to floor length.

  2. Initial Lie Angle Is Determined by Hitting a iron off of a lie board.

  3. Grip Size Is Determined by measuring both hands.

  4. The irons proper shaft flex and kick point is suggested by True Temper's ShaftLab.

  5. This suggested shaft is installed into a iron head and balls are hit to determine the maximum initial ball speed.

  6. This ball speed is then entered into a ball launch formula (converted missile launch formula from NASA) to determine the optimum launch angle and optimum reverse ball speed.ball speed is then entered into a ball launch formula

  7. At this time, different heads and different shafts are tried in many combinations to hit the launch angle and reverse ball spin optimal requirements.

  8. When the optimized requirements have been met, the swing weight is determined.

  9. Now we have the type of Miura iron, swing weight, launch angle, minimum reverse ball speed, the correct shaft with the proper flex and kick point.

  10. The grip size and shaft lengths are also known.

Building

  1. Shafts are All Progressively Frequency Matched and Oscillated in Two Planes

  2. All Grips are Sorted to Have Same Weight and Size and color.

  3. Each head is checked for proper loft and visual defects.

  4. Each club is assembled and adjusted to the proper swing weight.

  5. David Butler's "Z Axis Alignment". Patent applied for! Makes the ball go very straight.

  6. The club is epoxied and sets for 24 hours.

  7. Grips are added with a fixture to be certain they are on straight.

Calibration
  1. Each Club will be hit by the Customer.

  2. Every Iron loft and lie Angle is Precisely Adjusted until Perfect with the newly developed Mitchell digital read out machine.loftandlie.JPG

  3. Recheck of Proper Launch Angle with Minimum Reverse Ball Spin.

  4. A club and distance chart along with a golf ball analysis will be provided.

Continued Services
  1. Your game is important to you and to us.

  2.  It is natural that Lie angles will change.

  3. We will adjust them every six months, free of charge.

WHAT ARE CUSTOM GOLF CLUBS?

Fitting custom golf clubs is not answering five or six questions on a web site to be ‘fit’ into a Miura Driver or a set of Miura Forged Irons.

Selecting custom golf clubs is not a cart with wheels filled with different golf clubs and sitting in a pro shop or on the practice range.

Buying a set of Miura custom golf clubs is not attending a Demo Day at your local driving range and hitting clubs until you find something you like.

Recommending a set of custom golf clubs is not something that can be accomplished from start to finish in 20 minutes or less, regardless if you are hitting balls on a launch monitor.

Making a set of custom golf clubs is not done by altering some aspects of an existing standard made set of golf clubs.

Fitting custom golf clubs IS working one on one with a trained Miura master fitter over a period of at least 2 hours or more, and frequently over the course of 2 or more visits to the fitters shop.

Custom Miura fitted forged irons IS being fit from scratch with the right clubheads, shafts, and grips being recommended by the custom clubmaker based on results from a TrackMan launch monitor, different models, designs and performance factors.

Custom Fitting IS the domain of the serious, professional clubmaker who ‘lives, eats and breathes’ all of the information available which will allow him or her to accurately match each golfer’s swing to the best fitted set of Miura forged irons.

Custom fitted golf clubs also includes the most used golf club in your bag - the putter. Putters also have to be properly fitted to the correct length, swing weight, loft, lie  and grip.
