A typical fitting session with David Butler takes two or three hours.

During the process, you will experience and learn how golf shafts bend more than we realize, in turn affecting their performance. For precise fitting, David utilizes True Temper’s computerized Shaft Lab. This technology analyzes every point in your swing---where the club flexes, twists, droops and kicks. A shaft that is too flexible may rob power by kicking too soon. A stiff one may kick too late. But, a properly fitted shaft kicks just as it reaches the ball, often yielding tens of extra yards in distance, along with straighter ball flights.

Finally, David will ask you to try a number of club heads while hitting balls through the TrackMan launch monitor at a driving range. When you find the right one, he builds you a club with your perfect shaft, length, swing weight and kick point. Your grips will fit. Your clubs will have proper lofts and lie angles. Effectively, they will be you!

Even then, David Butler has only begun…
